• This is a story about 2 young brothers who sailed to the Good Ole USA from war torn Eastern Europe in the 1930's in search of freedom and the American Dream. Landing on Ellis Island with only the clothes on their backs and not a nickel between them, they came to New York City with the hopes of finding a job to buy them food, a place to sleep and bring their family eventually over from the horrors of World War II. With time not being on their side, they hustled and quickly became street smart and young, savvy entrepreneurs. Following an opportunity to run push carts in New York City, they saved enough money to have their own push cart business and quickly found a way to manufacture accessories that they sold on their push cards. Business was good and eventually led them to the idea in the late 1940's to venture across the globe to Asia to begin importing products to the US in order to reduce cost and expand the product offerings for sale direct to retail. Early products included hair accessories, costume jewelry and Christmas novelties and nativity sets. As both brothers got married and had children, more family eventually came into the business. By the 1960's, the second generation of business was well intact. By the 1990's, the third generation began and so the story continues to this day ......
